I’m Catherine Comiskey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing psychotherapy to adults and couples. I work with people who are thoughtful and curious, and who sense that something is not quite working in their relationships, emotional lives, or sense of self, even if they cannot yet fully name what that is.
I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston and bring nearly a decade of experience in the mental health field. I am a lifelong learner and remain deeply engaged in my work through ongoing study and continued postgraduate training. This dedication is reflected in my training at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston, where I completed a two year advanced psychodynamic psychotherapy program and am currently participating in a four year psychoanalytic training program. Ongoing study informs a thoughtful, relational, and depth oriented approach to care.
Following graduate school, I was selected for a competitive postgraduate fellowship at the Menninger Clinic and later joined their outpatient program as a clinician. There, I worked across both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing treatment to individuals navigating complex emotional, relational, and trauma related concerns. This breadth of experience deepened my capacity to tolerate complexity and to think carefully about the layers beneath presenting symptoms.
In addition to my work at Menninger, I have provided outpatient psychotherapy for several years in private practice, working with adults and couples across a range of life stages and transitions.
Outside of my clinical work, I find grounding in meaningful relationships, time in nature, movement, and creative pursuits. These experiences shape how I think about balance, resilience, and the rhythms of emotional life.
